Reviews & Endorsements

“Everyday I meet heroes, ordinary people making extraordinary efforts to accomplish something. Something important, such as a young man coming to terms with cancer or a patient graciously accepting a debilitating prognosis. Everyday I see wonderful
people who possess unusual determination and courage to face the circumstances of their lives.

Diana Joy is a hero. She is a woman of enormous personal courage who found the strength to face her disastrous childhood and pull from it the very best lessons of living: love, compassion, and forgiveness. This is a tough story to tell and a tough story to read. Based on her own truths, Diana Joy continues to teach us all and, like so many heroes, I am grateful for this lesson.”

Dr. Leslie A. Stanwix, D.O.

“To know Diana Joy is to know a pure faith and a hope that defies human understanding. Being a part of her life is a privilege; walking beside her has increased my faith and belief in the resiliency of the human soul. It is moving to read Diana Joy’s story and to know that others will be touched by reading it, too.” Cindy Smith, LCSW

“Diana Joy takes the reader on an emotional journey through the life of an unseen child. What a gift!”

Sandi Nieves, BA. Psych.

“Knowing Diana Joy for several years, in two flattering capacities – as a foster mother and a dear friend - I have been witness to her journey and release. She and her husband offer a safe haven of unconditional love to all those who enter their home. Unfortunately, hasty decisions were made years ago that almost destroyed her family, but with courage she was forced to speak her truth.

Fearlessly, she allows you to become the observer as she revisits her past, full of unimaginable struggles, which thankfully opened to absolute faith and survival. Looking through the Eyes of an Unseen Child is an extremely powerful book, helping to liberate the conversation and understanding of Multiple Personalities Disorder (MPD), but more importantly, to remind us that there are thousands of Unseen Children walking amongst us who deserve acknowledgment.”

Michelle Fraas, MSW

"Absolutely incredible. You have written an amazing story and I know it will be a gift of healing for anyone who reads it. It gave me goose bumps. I think everyone should read it and then pass it on."

Diana Joy-Albertsen
I was the unexpected child. My twin sister and I have four other siblings. I must now open the journals of my childhood and share the gripping story of our struggles with a life of abuse. I hope that by telling my story, it will help give other unseen children, and my siblings, the courage to heal.
